Spread across 8 weeks, The Sustainability Startathon: Country Rounds will include 3 stages: Masterclasses, Qualifying Round, and the Country Finals.
All contestants are required to attend the virtual Masterclass series. This is a series of workshops for contestants to get ready for the upcoming Sustainability Startathon. Attendees will be exposed to a range of topics that are critical for success in the Country Rounds, such as Design Thinking, Presentation Skills, Innovation and creativity, and UNSDGs.
Participants will learn how to approach complex problems in a structured and innovative way, with a focus on creating solutions that are both effective and sustainable.
This masterclass will equip participants with the tools and techniques needed to deliver compelling presentations while communicating your key idea with great clarity.
Participants will learn the essential skills and mindset needed to foster innovation effectively and explore strategies for nurturing a culture of creativity within the team.
This final masterclass will provide a comprehensive understanding of the UNSDGs, so participants better understand the challenges and opportunities presented by this critical framework.
The Qualifying Round consists of Problem Solving Challenge based on this year’s theme of “Reimagine : Eco-cities”, which will require innovative ideas and solutions from the teams. Teams of 3-5 candidates per country will be assessed by a panel of judges. The Top teams will proceed to the next stage based on their group performance and effectiveness of the solution.
The Country Finals will feature a new problem statement based on
the same theme, challenging the team’s coding skills and
innovative thinking. As a physical event, contestants will be
able to present their final solutions live, to the judges.
The top 3 teams per country (180 youths in total across the ACI
region) will be invited for a
full scholarship to Singapore for the 6-day ACI Youth
Leadership Summit, where they will compete in the Grand Finals of the
Sustainability Startathon.
